reflexology
Introducing Reflexology to Matfen Hall Spa on limited availability basis.Reflexology is an Holistic treatment based on the principle that reflex points on the feet are connected to corresponding areas throughout the body.
The feet contain reflex points for most major organs, glands and bodily systems, in this way, the feet can be seen as a 'map' of the body.
A Reflexologist will work on these reflexes with their thumbs and fingers using specific massage techniques, said to help correct imbalances throughout the body and release blocked chi (energy).
Most people find reflexology to be very relaxing. It promotes wellbeing, improves circulation, reduces pain, soothes tired feet, and encourages overall healing. Generally people will feel calm, relaxed and sleepy after a treatment.
Some areas on the feet may appear tender or sore, in this case, the reflexologist may spend extra time on these points and the soreness should decrease with pressure.
If you're ticklish, don't worry, the pressure applied in the treatment is firm, the treatment lasts for approximately one hour.
