Whether you decide you want to swim to burn calories, or purely for relaxation, Matfen Hall has one of the finest facilities in the area. Our 16 metre UV filtered pool is beautifully set in the original building with plenty of natural light.At Matfen Hall we have heavily invested in the most up to date Technogym equipment, so there are many exercise options available to you.
If you're new to a gym then don't worry, our staff can advise on any fitness programmes relevent to your own goals, including nutrition and weight management advise on a one-to-one basis. To keep you on your toes we have monthly member challenges.
Swim only options
A swim only membership is also available. Our 16 metre UV filtered pool, offers superb water quality with atmospheric lighting. In addition we have a relaxing spa whirlpool and fire and ice experience.
In addition, we became the Fitness Industry Association's (FIA) "Fitness Club of the Year (for clubs with under 1000 members) in the 2006 Fitness Leadership and Management Excellence Awards (FLAME). These (FIA) awards are recognised as the, fitness industrys "Oscars", and most sought after commendations. Each year, more than 5,000 health and fitness clubs and leisure centres across the UK are invited to compete for the prestigious award and Matfen Hall were the only independent leisure club to win and the only winner from the North East Region.
